Well, its kinda hard to write about yourself, but here we go…

Hi everyone, My name is Sophie Winder. I’m Colton’s second wife, and we have been married for just over a year. I work a full time job, and am a midwifery apprentice. In marrying Colton and Tami, I have become a third generation plural wife.

What makes up who I am…

I like to garden, play guitar, and learn new things.

Currently, my free time is made up of helping Colton on the farm, studying midwifery, & spending quality time with my family. There aren’t nearly enough hours in the day, but if there were, I would spend more of them with my family…learning more recipes, and cooking with Tami, playing with Sadie, and working hard with Colton on the farm. As well as building up land that I hope someday we will have together. I also have a love of knowledge, so I would enjoy furthering my study time into midwifery and self-sufficiency.

I’m loving learning more about farming. Since marrying Colton, I’ve gotten a lot of hands on experience.  I’m not sure I knew quite what I was getting into, choosing to be a farmer’s wife, but I’ve loved it so far! Taking care of lambs, pigs, cattle, hay and our lovely orchard that Tami and Colton planted several years ago. Having that be a part of our everyday life is something I treasure. I also love to just sit on the back porch with Tami, drinking tea, and talking about life, hobbies, and just spending time together.

I am thankful for my life, and thankful for the choices that have brought me to where I am. Choosing to live plural marriage is one of the best choices I have ever made, and all good things have followed since. We decided to do this blog together as a family to share our story… we feel our story is different from many. Although we’ve had to overcome many personal vulnerabilities in this decision, we decided that it would be better for us to stand up and live in our truth, and hopefully in the process we can stamp out the stereotypes associated with this lifestyle.

So, join us on our journey as we open up our lives to you and share our experiences. This lifestyle comes loaded with happiness, emotions, vulnerabilities, & growth, all of which we have chosen to embrace.

Join me next week, where I will share more about my background, and how that led me to where I am now 🙂
